Foster Block Parking Garage

The Foster Block Parking project is an 8-floor parking garage with a basement utility area, two elevator cores, stair towers, and a third freight elevator. At the time of construction, it was the tallest parking garage in the state of Idaho with over 600 parking spaces and retail space street-side on the first floor. It was designed and built around the historical Foster Building, coming within a few feet of the existing building and following its curved contour. The garage was built in downtown Boise to alleviate growing parking congestion issues. The garage itself utilizes post-tension concrete design. Over 10,000 cubic yards of concrete were used to complete the concrete, form-work, and post tensioning. Wright Brothers’ crews used the EFCO Cunningham Form System to complete one floor-deck every two weeks.
